South Australia has adopted a comprehensive and integrated approach to the management of natural resources. It recognised the need for regional communities to drive decision making within a legislative structure that enables them to care for, protect and sustainably use the State's natural reources. This brochure provides an overview of the State structure together with contact information about each of the 8 regional NRM boards and an overview of each region, program highlights and the NRM challenges being faced.

NRM Council Business Plan
The NRM Council's Business Plan aims to communicate the goals, objectives and strategies of the NRM Council and outline the essential framework to support Council to achieve its desired purpose which is to "Drive, Advise and Influence NRM in South Australia".

NRM Council Annual Reports
2007/08 Annual Report
The NRM Council Annual Report is currently being prepared. The NRM Council must, on or before 30 November in each year, provide to the Minister a report on its activities for the financial year ending on the preceding 30 June. The report will be accompanied by annual reports of reginoal NRM boards and NRM groups. When the Minister has laid a copy of the report before both Houses of Parliament, it will become available for you to view on this page. The timing of this depends upon the sitting times of Parliament.
2006/07 Annual Report
The interim NRM Council Annual Report for 2006/07 was tabled in parliament on Tuesday 3 June 2008. It is important to note that this version of the report is incomplete, as it does not include the audited financial statements of four of the regional NRM Boards (Eyre Peninsula, Northern & Yorke, SA Murray Darling Basin and South East). 2005/06 Annual Report
The interim NRM Council Annual Report for 2005/06 was tabled in parliament on 26 July 2007. It is important to note that this version of the report is incomplete, as it does not include the audited financial statements of six of the regional NRM Boards. 2007 NRM Council Volunteer Forum Report
The 2007 state-wide forum, EXPLORING THE CHALLENGES: supporting and engaging NRM volunteers, was convened by the Natural Resources Management (NRM) Council. The forum and the written documentation of participants’ contributions, along with the combined impressions gathered on the day by the NRM Volunteer Committee have been summarised by the committee in this report. The NRM Volunteer Committee has built in suggested ways forward to overcome identified challenges into their 2008-09 Workplan where appropriate.
